UGO - Ultimate Gaming Optimizer: v2.2.0 GEM - Update Notes

Hey Optimizers!

I am excited to release v2.2.0 GEM! This version represents a significant step forward from the previous 'UGO Basic' (v2.1.7), adding convenient new features, more advanced options, and improving overall stability based on rigorous testing (and some diligent bug hunting!).

Here’s what’s new:

✨ NEW FEATURES ✨

• System Tray Mode:

  • Want UGO running quietly in the background? Now you can! Use the new "Sys Tray" checkbox in the top-right.
  • When enabled, closing the main window ('X' button) now minimizes UGO to your system tray (notification area) instead of closing it.
  • Right-click the tray icon for quick access to Network Presets, showing the main window, or quitting the application.

• Network Presets:

  • Quickly optimize your network settings for specific tasks! Find the new row of buttons below the main tweaks:
    • Gaming (Latency): Aims to reduce network lag for competitive gaming.
    • Streaming (Speed): Prioritizes network throughput for smoother streaming or large downloads.
    • Stable (Balanced): Applies generally stable settings suitable for everyday use.
    • Reset Network: Easily revert only the network tweaks back to Windows defaults.

• 🚀 Pre-Game Boost:

  • Added a new "Boost" button to the bottom bar!
  • Click it before launching a game to quickly:
    • Close common background programs (like web browsers, game launchers like Steam/Epic, Discord, Spotify, etc.) to free up resources.
    • Attempt a basic RAM clear.
  • Note: The list of programs to close is predefined in the script.

• Advanced / Risky Tweaks: ⚠️

  • Added a new category for advanced users seeking potentially higher performance, but use with caution as they may affect system stability and require a reboot:
    • Set MaxUserPort: Increases available TCP ports, potentially helping some P2P apps/games.
    • Set TcpTimedWaitDelay: Reduces how long connections wait before closing, potentially helping apps that rapidly reuse connections.

🛠️ IMPROVEMENTS & FIXES 🛠️

• UI Updates: Added the new "Sys Tray" toggle and the "Boost" & "Network Preset" buttons for easy access to features. Renamed "Optimize Now" to "Optimize Sel." and "Restore Defaults" to "Restore All" for clarity.
• Tray Icon Fixed: Resolved issues where the tray icon wouldn't appear correctly when enabled, especially after building the application. It should now show up reliably when bundled correctly!
• Stability: Fixed various underlying bugs related to indentation and syntax errors, leading to a more stable experience.
• Removed: The non-functional "Switch Audio Output" option has been removed from the tray menu to avoid confusion.
